Getting Back Into Action After A Break From Your Goal

Aug 10, 2023

Sometimes you stop taking action towards your goals, whether that was intentional or unintentional.  Getting yourself back into action can be difficult.  You’ve been on pause for so long, that it’s become easier to do just nothing rather than the tough work to achieve your goal.  But, you’re not making progress towards achieving your goal and it’s really starting to bother you.  Here is how you can get yourself back into action after taking a break from your goal.

Inner Voice

The first step is to notice the signs.  You'll know it’s time to get yourself back into action after taking a break from your goal when you hear your inner voice speak up.  You’ll notice a niggle inside of you saying it’s time to get up and do something to achieve your goal.  But, you’ve been on break so you say not today, maybe tomorrow.  It’s easier to push down that inner voice and quiet it rather than doing...

Taking A Break From Your Goal

Aug 03, 2023

Sometimes you get discouraged working towards your goal.  Maybe you’re not seeing the progress you had hoped and it’s a slow, arduous process.  It could be that you’ve hit a wall and you just can’t seem to move forward.  Perhaps you’re running on empty and don’t feel like you have the energy or motivation to keep going at this point.  All of these scenarios can lead you to stop taking action towards your goal.  It’s perfectly okay to take a break from working on your goal if your intent is to reflect and recharge with a plan to get back into action.  But, you might be taking too long of a break from your goal.

Taking A Break

Taking breaks is important and necessary to your overall success.  You can’t keep going a million miles an hour without a rest period.  Otherwise, you’ll just collapse and never make it to the finish line of achieving your goal.  You need time to rest and...

Looking Towards The Future

Jul 27, 2023

Living in the past keeps you focused on looking backwards.  You think about how things were and what happened.  You dwell on certain situations and all the possible scenarios if things would have gone differently.  Perhaps you’d be somewhere else today.  But, you can’t change the past.  You’re here now in the present and you have to learn to look towards the future.  Otherwise, you’ll just remain stuck and never be able to live life to your full potential.

Your Focus

What you focus on becomes your reality.  Maybe you’re focusing on the past because you liked where you were.  Things seemed easier, peaceful, and a less stressful time.  You may not have recognized it in that moment but, looking back, you sure appreciated where you were.  Take those good moments and carry each one forward with you into the future.  Those memories are precious and shouldn’t be forgotten.  It’s...

There’s A Reason

For some reason, the universe has thrown you a detour.  In these moments, you have to pay attention.  Maybe you’ve been stuck on autopilot and you’re just floating through your normal routine.  Instead, be present and look around to see if you’re missing something that’s right in front of you.  Perhaps it’s an experience that’s pushing you out of your comfort zone and you’re going to learn something new.  It could simply be spending time with the...

How To Say No To Tasks

Jun 29, 2023

You may have a hard time saying no.  As a result, you say yes too often and fulfill too many demands until you hit a breaking point.  This may look like getting angry or frustrated.  Afterward, you feel guilty and ashamed for being upset.  So, you push away your own goals and go back to putting the needs of others ahead of your own.  This often leads to resentment that your own goals and needs are not being fulfilled.  If that’s the case, you need to set some clear boundaries.  Learn how to say no to tasks that take you away from achieving your goals.

Loose Boundaries

Loose boundaries look like a people pleaser who defines your own self worth by the opinions of other people.  You have an inability to say “no” when someone asks something of you.  You’re often seen as the fixer, helper, or rescuer who is on speed dial at all times as the solution to other people’s problems.  When this happens,...

Ask For Help And Delegate

Jun 22, 2023

Asking For Help

There are many benefits to asking for help.  The first is simply getting a new set of eyes on things can give you a new perspective.  You may have just been too close to situation to see the solution yourself.  Sometimes things become too much of a burden to carry alone.  Often your schedule is inundated with tasks and you just can’t fit everything in.  Asking someone else to help...

Jun 15, 2023

You know those mornings when you don’t want to wake up and staying in your nice warm, cozy bed sounds so much better than squeezing in your workout or getting ready for the day?  You just want a few more minutes to savor the peace and quiet before the start of a hectic day.  The demands of everyone else constantly pull at you throughout the day which leaves you feeling drained, exhausted, and tried by the afternoon.  If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed to where you can’t do any more, then it’s time to pause and reevaluate because you’re on the road to burn out.  Here are three steps to avoid burn out.

Burn Out
