Letting go of control and trusting your future self can sound almost impossible.  It feels like you’re throwing caution to the wind.  You’re just supposed to magically trust and believe that everything will work out in your favor.  But, what if you’re not seeing results, feel like you’re messing up, and falling farther behind?  It’s hard to trust that there is a light at the end of the tunnel when it feels so dark where you currently are.

Self Doubt

Maybe nothing feels like it’s going right in your life.  This is when self doubt, fear, and worry find their opening and climb right in.  Imagine those three banging pots, pans, using blow horns, and streamers as if it’s a party bus.  Those negative voices start to get really loud about why you can’t achieve your goals and how you should just quit right now before you embarrass yourself any more.  But, there are a few tools you can use to quiet those voices quickly and effectively.  Here are four ways you can stop listening to the nega...

There are some key differences between your current self and your future self.  Your future self is an elevated version of your current self who has been through things, experiences, and gained knowledge to become the next level of you.  One of the best ways can connect with your future self is through visualization.  Visualizing your future self, who you are being, what you are doing, etc. will help you get in tune with that higher version of you.  Learn how to visualize your future self and start acting like her today.

Walk Into A Room

Begin by visualizing how your future self would walk into a room.  Maybe your future self would stand tall, proud, confident, shoulders back, chin up, and look people in the eyes.  An alternative version, which may be your current self, is head down, hunched over, not giving eye contact.  You can easily see the difference between these two versions.  On eludes confidence while the other is shy and recoiled inward.  When you’re thinking of your highes...

Your future self is just the next level version of who you are today.  It’s a higher version of you that has been through certain life experiences to gain new knowledge and expertise along the way.  Who you are being today, what you are doing, and how you’re showing up is creating this future version of you.  However, there is an obvious, clear gap between who you are, where you are today and who you are, where you are in the future.  Learn how you can bridge this gap faster by stepping into a realistic, action oriented identity.

Future Self

This isn’t about creating a whole new identity for yourself.  It’s about becoming the version of you who goes after your goals and dreams in life.  Envision what this version of you requires from you today.  Maybe that’s using a to do list, meal planning, working out, etc.  This future version of you is brave, courageous, determined, ambitious, etc.  Consider what this future version of you does and looks like from an identity level.

Your future self is created from what you are doing today.  You are either doing things to help or hinder your future self.  Maybe you’re doing things to help your future self like meal planning, exercising, working off a to do list, etc.  But, you may also be doing things that are causing more detriment than good for your future self.  Such as, stressing out or worrying about things you cannot control, not taking care of yourself, overcommitting yourself to too many projects, surrounding yourself with toxic people, listening to the negativity in your mind, etc.  It’s time you start recognizing what your future self needs to set yourself up for success.

Your Future Self

The first step in recognizing what your future self needs is to start by getting crystal clear on what you want in the future.  Visualize what you’re doing, who you’re with, where you are, what you’re working towards, etc.  Get clear on how you feel.  Maybe that’s excited, passionate, driven, courageous, etc.  This...

Limiting Beliefs

Growth can be scary.  It’s doing things you’ve never done before to push the boundaries of your comfort zone.  However, the more you do it, the more comfortable you’ll become.  Here is how you can make a few minor mindset shifts to help you start living in the growth zone in life.

Self Doubt

Growth can trigger a bunch of feelings and emotions.  Sometimes you may feel like you’re not ready, enough, capable, worthy, smart, etc.  Self doubt starts to creep in and you feel flooded with the overwhelming emotions of maybe you can’t actually achieve your goal.  You begin to wonder if you’re on the right track, if this is even possible, etc.  You second guess yourself and that’s when you decide to stop taking action towards your goal because it becomes too uncomfortable.  You move into the escape zone and avoid working towards your goal.  This looks like procrastination techniques or simply doing anything else rather than the tasks related to your goal.  Your job is to recognize when this...

You live your life from one of four main boxes.  Imagine a square box broken into four separate quadrants.  One line divides the box by if something is inherently good for you to expand your life or bad for you and is holding you back.  The other line separates the quadrants by your comfort zone of what feels good or not good to you.  Deciding which of the four boxes you want to live your life by will help determine your future.  Let’s take a closer look at these four life quadrants to help you achieve your goals and live your dream life.

Comfort Zone Box

The first box is your comfort zone which contains what feels good to you and is good for you.  This when you do things that you enjoy, light you up, and make you happy.  Such as, going for a walk in nature to clear your mind, using your planner to jot down all your tasks so that you feel organized, etc.  These things feel good, comfortable, easy, and sometimes second nature to you.  These experiences add value to your life and per...

Replacing Old Repetitive Patterns

Sometimes you can be blind to a repeated pattern in your life.  You constantly do the same things from your daily habits to your usual routines.  Some of these things can be helpful and beneficial to your overall wellbeing.  But, then there are the repetitive patterns that are actually holding you back from living the life you truly want.  Learn how to replace these old patterns with new healthy habits so that you can start stepping into a new version of you who no longer accepts these patterns as your only way of being.

Patterns

The first step to acknowledge the patterns that you currently have.  Make a list of things you do day in and day out.  Keep track of what you’re doing on a daily basis for a few days.  Notice any repetitive patterns.  These may be things that you’ve done unconsciously for years.  It could be moments where you procrastinate due to fear or taking the easy way out as an escape instead of doing the more difficult tasks to achieve your goals.  These are the ol...

Using Your Past To Determine Your Future

Most of your attention is not in the present moment.  It’s either focused on the past of what’s already happened or looking towards what might happen in the future.  But, the present is what creates the future.  It’s not your past and what has happened back then.  It’s what you do today.  It’s the choices and actions you take today that ultimately determine your future.  It’s not using your past to determine your future life.

Past Experiences

When you look to the past to determine your future, you’re often operating out of fear.  You’re worried about the unknown future and you want to know what to expect.  Your brain uses the past memories, experiences, and even traumas to help predict what will happen in the future.  Logistically, it has no other means to do so other than to use the past.  However, the future is anything but certain.  Just because you experienced one outcome in the past does not mean that it will happen again in the future.  This is because there are so many var...

What To Do When You Experience Resistance

Feb 26, 2026

Think about your life and the moments where you’ve felt some resistance come up.  Maybe you’re resistant to change, doing something different, new experiences, etc.  Resistance is a sign that you should pay attention.  Resistance is your body’s way of letting you know you should be cautious because all it wants to do is feel safe.  However, resistance can also keep you stuck in your comfort zone.  Learning how to take action through resistance is going to help you achieve your goals in life.

Check In

Resistance often comes up when you’re stepping outside your comfort zone.  It’s evidence that you’re being challenged with an opportunity to learn and grow.  Resistance is not always bad.  It’s a clear sign to check in with yourself.  Ask yourself, are you safe in this moment?  Is this going to cause you physical harm?  If not, ask yourself if you’re just afraid or if there is another possible outcome?  Maybe taking action through that resistance can actually lead you to something ...
