The clair senses come from the French word “clear”. It’s a clear sign to help guide you in life. You can think of it as intuition or even tuning into your own psychic ability. There are eight total clairs. You might be stronger in one of these clairs than the others. The question is whether or not you are paying attention to these signs. When you recognize a clair, you can receive messages that can help you achieve your goals. Here are the eight clairs to achieve your goals.
The first clair is clairvoyance where you see visions, images, or symbols in your mind. It may be a clear visual or disguised in a metaphor. You may repeatedly visualize a possibility. Clairvoyance can help you visualize where you want to go before you know all the exact steps to get there. For example, you picture yourself achieving your goal and explore what your first action steps could be instead of dismissing it as being unrealistic. This helps shorten the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Your subconscious can already see it. Are you paying attention and seeing it too or do you brush it off as not possible?
The second clair is clairaudience which is hearing voices, sounds, or ringing in your ears or head. You hear a thought, phrase, or inner message that seems to come out of nowhere. It almost sounds like someone is talking in your head. The voice is never loud or harsh. It’s even and calm. These messages are usually short and help give you encouragement or direction on what to do to achieve your goals. Such as, send the email or hit publish on your post. Pay attention to these thoughts instead of letting your fears win and overpower you into thinking all the reasons why you shouldn’t.
Next, is clairsentience which is feeling by physically sensing emotional or vibrational energy in your body. You feel something strongly. For instance, excitement, peace, discomfort. Pay attention to the sensations in your body and investigate what this feeling means. Perhaps it’s butterflies in your stomach, a tightness in your chest, a feeling like you cannot speak in your throat, etc. When you feel something strongly in your body, you can acknowledge if you’re making decisions to achieve your goals based off of fear or from your logical mind.
Claircognizance is just knowing in an instant. You have unexplainable inner certainty that this is what needs to happen. You simply know something without being able to explain exactly why. It’s that gut instinct that you have. You trust yourself in this moment because you just know deep in your core that this is the action you need to take towards your goals. It’s knowing without having the full picture or exact road map just yet.
Clairalience is smelling and detecting phantom scents with no physical source. Maybe you get a whiff of a strong smelling flower, perfume, citrus fruit, coffee, tobacco, the ocean, etc. Yet, there is nothing around that could actually produce that smell. This scent may take you back to a childhood memory or a time when you felt confident to take action towards your goals. Clairalience can be confirmation or reassurance that you’re on the right track to achieve your goals. Pause and pay attention to when you notice a strong peculiar scent.
Then, there is clairgustance which is tasting. You experience phantom tastes or flavors in your mouth without a physical source. Maybe it’s been years since you’ve experienced the taste of your Grandmother’s cooking. Perhaps you taste some of your favorite foods like chocolate. You might taste things that are metallic, salty, sour, or sweet. This is a sign to stop and pay attention to what’s happening in that moment. A familiar taste can be a reminder that you’re not alone on this journey to achieve your goals.
Clairtangency is when you can read the energy of an object or person through physical contact by touch. For example, you touch someone’s shoulder, a family heirloom, or go antique shopping. You can sense the energy in these objects. Often touching these items can trigger one of your other senses such as seeing, feeling, taste, smell, etc. Everything is made up of energy. Some of that energy is good and some of that energy can feel off. Choose to surround yourself with the energy of things that light you up and encourage you to go after your goals. Let go of the negative energy and the things holding you back from achieving your goals.
Lastly, is clairempathy where you deeply feel other people’s emotions as your own. Perhaps you walk into a room and notice someone who is quiet, uncomfortable, and isn’t having a good time. You take on that emotion and your mood shifts. Maybe you become anxious, fearful, sad, angry, or unsettled. You’re absorbing the emotions of someone else. This person may not want you to go after your goals because they are afraid. You cannot let that stop you and prevent you from achieving your dreams. Visualize cutting a physical cord that is attached between you and this other person to release the emotional energy that you have taken on. Free yourself from the emotional turmoil so that you can clearly take action towards the life you want.
Now that you know all eight clairs, begin paying attention to the signs. Think back to moments when you’ve experienced a clair and maybe ignored it. Perhaps you experienced a clair and trusted the sign to take action. Consider what happened. Clair senses are there to help you but you have to pay attention. Think about which clair you are strongest in recognizing and how can you start paying better attention to the signs from the other clairs in the future.
When you first notice and experience a clair, it can be a bit scary. You question if this is real or just made up in your mind. You might ask others if they can sense the same thing. At which, most people won’t be able to. This sign is for you. It’s usually not meant for others. Begin paying attention to the signs from the clair senses. Embrace the sign and do not be afraid. Allow the signs to help guide you to achieve your goals.
Step 1: Choose One Clair
Read through the eight clair senses in the blog and choose the one that feels the most familiar or interesting to you.
Ask yourself, which of these experiences have you noticed before but maybe dismissed?
You don't need to decide whether it was definitely a sign. Simply become curious about what you've experienced.
Step 2: Start Paying Attention
For the next week, pay attention to your chosen sense.
Notice when you:
Don't go looking for signs. Simply notice what naturally catches your attention.
Step 3: Keep A Sign Journal
Each time you experience something unusual or meaningful, write it down.
Record:
You aren't trying to prove anything. You're just simply becoming more aware.
Step 4: Listen Before You Dismiss
The next time you have a strong feeling, thought, image, taste, smell, emotion or sense of knowing, pause before immediately talking yourself out of it.
Ask, what if you simply listened to this instead of dismissing it?
Then, consider whether there's a small, practical action you could take towards your goal.
Use your intuition as information to reflect on, while still using your judgment and common sense when making important decisions to take action towards your goals.
Step 5: Trust Yourself
At the end of the week, look back through your journal.
What patterns do you notice?
Which experiences felt meaningful?
Did you notice yourself becoming more aware of your thoughts, feelings, emotions, or surroundings?
Most importantly, ask what are you learning about yourself when you slow down and actually listen?
You may discover that you already have more inner guidance than you realized.
