Often, you don’t take action towards your goals because you’re afraid of the unknown future. The future seems scary because you don’t know what will happen. Maybe you’ll choose wrong, it won’t work out, or it will go a different direction. Your brain decides it’s safer to remain in your comfort zone of what you already know to be safe. Safe from failure or embarrassment. But, this isn’t how goals get achieved. You have to learn how to change how you feel about the unknown future.
You feel uncomfortable about the unknown future. The uncertain and the unknown is scary. You don’t know what to expect. You don’t know what will happen. So, you try and control. You play out all the different scenarios as if you can change what will happen. If you just do this or steer your life in this direction then maybe you’ll get to where you want to go. Or, at least prevent something bad from happen.
However, there is another way to think about this. A way to ease your anxiety, worry, and stress. That is to view these feelings as excitement rather than something bad. Instead of going down the rabbit hole of something terrible is going to happen, think about how you would feel if you were excited for what’s to come in your life. Such as, the exciting anticipation for an upcoming trip or fun event. Start being excited about the unknowns in the future rather than being afraid. Consider how different that energy feels in your body.
Being excited about the unknown future requires a certain level of patience. Usually, things don’t happen immediately. Just like achieving your goals takes time. Be patient and wait for the goodness that is in store and coming your way. Trust and believe that it is. Not necessarily on your timeline but when it’s ready. Know that what’s meant to be yours will be yours in life. You don’t have to worry. You don’t have to fear. You just be patient and trust that it will happen.
The universe is preparing an amazing life for you. Trust that everything will work out. Knowing that it will all work out for the higher good. Not knowing exactly how it will happen. But, just trusting that it will. This takes an immense pressure off yourself to have it all figured out, to have everything go perfectly, and to be able to let go of control. You trust and believe that everything will work out as it should, which may even be better than you ever could have imagined.
You must let go of control and what you expect to happen. Trusting what’s meant to happen will happen. For example, specific people enter and leave your life. Certain events and experiences happen for a reason. Sometimes you’ll never know or understand why. It was just meant to happen this way. Do not be afraid or fear the unknown. Be excited. Surrender your need to control and trust that you’re being led exactly where you’re supposed to go.
When you let go of trying to control and surrender to the outcome, your whole world opens up to amazing possibilities. You’re no longer scared or fearful. You’re just excited to see what’s in store.
