Envision you just announced a big goal you want to achieve to a group of friends and family and nobody gets it. Instead you’re hit with a bunch of negativity, disbelief, insults, and all the reasons why you can’t achieve this goal. WOW! That’s a gut punch! Your excitement level just took a complete nose dive. Now you’re second guessing yourself and wondering if it was a stupid idea to begin with. But, this goal was put on your heart for a reason. It doesn’t just appear in your mind for fun. The fact that you dreamt it means that you're capable of achieving it. You need to go after your goal with all you’ve got. In order to do so, you’re going to have to believe in yourself when no one else does.
You must decide if you’re living life for you or for someone else. You only have one life to live. So, you might as well live it the way you want. Hopefully that’s full out and to your full potential. If that’s the case, stop caring what other people think about you and what you’re doing. Put blinders on and go after what you want in life. Run your own race. Set your goal, put your head down, and do the work to achieve it. When you do, you’ll often find that those that didn’t believe you could do it were simply just jealous of your ambition. You'll show them when you're miles ahead, smiling, and proud of your accomplishments. Stop caring what other people think and start believing in yourself instead because you can achieve amazing things.
A lot of times you get stuck surrounded by friends and family who don’t understand what you’re working on. They don’t see your vision, which often causes you to falter with your own belief in yourself. Sometimes other people don’t get it and that’s okay. The truth is, you don’t have to convince anyone that what you’re working towards is significant. This goal is important to you and that’s all that matters. You don’t have to prove anything to anyone. You believe in your goal and that is enough. You have the mental strength, courage, and willpower within you to keep fighting for your dreams in life, even when others don’t. Believe in your goal without a shadow of a doubt to help solidify the belief in yourself that you can make it happen.
Lastly, get really clear on why you want to achieve your goal. This will give you the motivation you need to keep going when no one else believes you can do it. It might be a big aspiration you’ve had since you were young or that achieving this goal will mean a big transformation in your life. Find your reason why you need to achieve this goal and use that to push any fears, worries, or self doubts to the sidelines. Your belief in yourself often stems from the reason why you want to achieve your goal in the first place. It has nothing to do with if someone else believes in you and your ability to achieve your goal. Always remember what achieving your goal will mean for you and your future if you ever find yourself struggling to believe in yourself.
It is said that no one will believe in your goal more than you. It’s true! Don’t let your goals and dreams die just because someone else doesn’t get it or believe that you can achieve it. You only have one life so you might as well live it to the best of your ability and go after your goals. You don’t want to get to the end of life and look back with regrets of what could have been. Believe in yourself because that’s who you need to answer to when you look yourself in the mirror each day.
