How To Be Secure In Who You Are

Apr 25, 2024

The more insecure you are, the more other people’s opinions will matter to you.  Being insecure means looking to another person to confirm what you already believe to be true about yourself.  Learn to be secure in who you are.  Take back your power.  No matter what anyone else says or does, have the self confidence to believe in yourself.  Your voice and your opinion are what’s important.  Another person’s opinion has no bearing on who you are or what you’re capable of achieving in your life.

Negative Comment

There are always going to be people who make negative comments about you or what you’re doing.  However, you have the power to decide how you respond.  You can choose to take the feedback as constructive criticism and look for ways to improve.  Or, you can decide not to pay any mind to the negative comments and you chalk it up to, it is more about them than it is about you.  Honestly, it could be that this person is jealous, threatened, or intimidated by you so it’s easier to try and bring you down rather than address their own insecurities.  When you have self confidence, you’re able to disregard negative comments that are aren’t beneficial to you.  This is because you’re confident in who you are, your ability, your skill, and know that you’re doing the best you can.

Insecure Belief

There is a difference between knowing that you’re doing the best you can and wondering if you’re doing a good job.  The wondering creates worry and insecurity that perhaps you’ve failed, made a mistake, aren’t good enough, etc.  Your subconscious goes to work to try and confirm your own beliefs.  The trouble is when your beliefs are insecure.  A great example is even if you receive ten comments praising your work and one negative one, you focus on the negative.  This is because the negative comment confirms your own insecure belief about yourself.

Focus On The Positive

In order to achieve your goals in life, you must change your beliefs.  Begin by focusing on your accomplishments.  Look to your past successes and even your current success about what’s been going right.  Focus on those things and the good work that you have done.  Accept words of encouragement and praise for your work.  Never brush off these compliments.  Put more emphasis on the positives rather than what didn’t go well.  Avoid searching for negative comments or beating yourself up over what went wrong.  There is no need to belittle yourself over errors.  When you look for the negative you will find it.  That’s why you must choose to focus on the positive.

Inner Confidence

Focusing on the positive will help you to build up your self confidence.  You’ll start to believe that you are worthy, enough, and capable.  You’ll discover that strong inner knowing of your own self confidence and allow yourself to step into your true power.  This is when you go from insecure to feeling secure in who you are.  When you have self confidence, other people’s opinions will have no bearing on you.  You’ll take action from a place of confidence instead of being consumed by fear, worry, and doubt.  Sure, you will still make mistakes because everyone does.  There will also always be things that you can improve upon for next time.  No one is perfect.  But, when you realize you’re doing the best you can with what you have, no one else’s opinion should matter.  Find your inner self confidence to be secure in who you are.

When you learn to stop letting other people’s opinions hold you back, you’ll finally be able to live life to your full potential.  Someone else’s opinion does not change who you are or what you can achieve.  You are strong and so much more powerful than you realize.  Step into this power.  When you do, you’ll be able to stop putting weight in other people’s opinions when it doesn’t suit you.  Your opinion is the only one that truly matters.  Let go of seeking out negativity.  Choose to place your attention on the positive, the success you’ve had, and just how far you’ve made it in life.  You have a lot to be proud of.  Do not let anyone else try and tear you down because of their own insecure beliefs.  Have the self confidence to be secure in who you are so that you can achieve your goals and dreams in life.
