Three Areas Holding You Back From Becoming Your Ideal Future Self

Aug 20, 2020

Your future self is the a more experienced version of your current self.  Your future self does not let fear hold her back.  She is brave, confident, and beautiful.  Remember, you are her.  Deep down you already have these traits within you.  However, limiting beliefs are holding you back from fully stepping into this ideal future self.  Your limiting beliefs keep you playing small and don’t allow you to live life to the fullest.  These limiting beliefs are the fears that are preventing you from living life to your true potential.  It’s time to identify those limiting beliefs with three areas holding you back from becoming your ideal future self.

Other People

Your future self goes after her dreams unapologetically.  But, your current self is afraid.  You’re afraid what other people will think of you if you try and fail.  Most of all, you’re afraid of what dreaming big and failing will mean about you as a person.  These limiting beliefs put you into a head spin.  You start thinking you’re not smart, you’re incapable, you’re unworthy, etc.  You’ve immediately jumped to the worst case scenario that because you have this big dream you will automatically fail.  All because you’re afraid of how you’ll look in front of other people.  This fear of embarrassment will only hold you back in life.  You’ll never achieve your dreams if you continue to be afraid of what other people will think.  It’s time to let go of those limiting beliefs and fully step into your future self that boldly goes after her dreams.  Your future self doesn’t care what other people think.  Your future self is living life to the fullest without any regrets.  Do not let other people hold you back from going after your dreams and becoming the future self you are truly meant to be.

The other reason you hold yourself back from becoming your ideal future self is because you think you don’t have enough experience.  This is called imposter syndrome where you feel like you’re not as competent as others.  Over the years you’ve experienced things that have allowed you to learn and grow.  These experiences have shaped the person you’ve become.  If you want to become your ideal future self, then think about what would she be doing right now.  Identify what you need to learn right now in order to become the person you’re meant to be.  This could be listening to podcasts, watching videos, reading books, taking online courses, or anything that will give you the experience you need to learn and become more knowledgeable in a certain area or field.  In turn, this will give you the confidence you need to step into becoming the future self you were put on this planet to be.

Take Action

Think about how you can step into becoming your ideal future self right now.  This is your future self who goes after her dreams and doesn’t let fear get in the way.  Make a list of what you need to start doing to be that future self today.  Next, make a list of what you need to stop doing.  Do more of things that will help you step into becoming your ideal future self and do less of the things that are holding you back.  It’s time to take action.  You’ll never become your ideal future self you want to be unless you start taking action right now.

Use these three areas to let go of your limiting beliefs and things holding you back from becoming your ideal future self.  First, do not let other people and their opinions about you or your dreams hold you back from becoming who you are meant to be.  Next, remember that your future self is just a more experienced version of who you are today.  Lastly, you must take action if want to become the future self who is living her dream life.  Use these three areas to let go of the limiting beliefs holding you back in life from becoming your ideal future self so that you can live life to your fullest potential without any regrets.
