Often times you don’t take time to truly appreciate just how far you’ve come in your life. You’re too worried thinking about the future and what’s coming next. You could even possibly be dwelling on the past and what could have or should have been. Either way, it’s time to pause and be grateful for where you are. No matter if you’re feeling too far behind and achieving your goals is just not happening fast enough for you. It’s time to be thankful for how far you have come in your life.
Begin by looking a back at where you originally started. Go back in time to when you very first started working on your goals and dreams. Time travel back to that moment in time. Visualize the previous version of you. See what you were doing and recall how you were feeling. Maybe you were scared, nervous, excited, etc. The world was full of possibilities back then and it still is.
Next, remember the dreams you had in your heart and the big goals you had in mind that you’ve now since achieved. These were once aspirations that you thought you might never attain. There were closed doors you had hoped would open. Now you’re on the other side. You’ve achieved some amazing things in your life. Part of the life you’re currently living was once only a dream.
Go back to the times when you struggled. This is when your belief was challenged and you questioned if you’d ever be able to achieve your goals and dreams. You wondered how you would ever make it through these tough times. You worried you’d never be able to figure out what you needed to do in order to achieve your goals. Yet, here you are. Gather up everything you’ve had to learn over the years to get you to where you are today. Recall the difficult moments and what you’ve been through. Realize how strong you are today because of those struggles.
You’ve made it so far in your life. Give yourself credit and celebrate just how far you’ve come. Don’t belittle your accomplishments by comparing yourself to other people and where they are in their journey. Only compare yourself to where you first started. Look at how much progress you’ve made! Think of all the lessons you’ve learned along the way. You’re so much braver, stronger, and smarter because of everything you’ve been through. Rejoice in the fact that you’ve made it this far.
Now, you have to keep going. Put one foot in front of the other because where you are today will be miles in the past behind where you’ll be this time next year. You still have big goals and dreams on your heart. Keep going and don’t give up. Continue to look back on your progress. Write about your journey in a journal so you can reflect on how far you’ve come. This will help you to not only remember the good times but also the challenges too. Notate your entire journey so you can look back proudly at the progress you’ve made and who you’ve become in the process. Be proud of yourself for how far you’ve come in your life. There is so much you have to be thankful for.
You don’t acknowledge how far you’ve come until you really take a moment to pause and reflect on where you started from. Remember who were in the beginning and who you’ve become today.
