This is the month of love. Whether you’re in a romantic relationship or not, love is an important quality to have in life. Love isn’t just for another person, it’s for yourself, it’s for the little things in life, the growth you’re experiencing, and a love of life itself. Love is defined as an intense feeling of affection with a great interest and pleasure in something. Learn how you can experience a whole new perspective on life when you choose to see life through the lens of love.
When you love something, it’s with your entire heart. When you love something so much that it brings happy tears of joy to your face, that’s when you know it is real love. Sometimes that can be difficult and heartbreaking because you love something so much, but it causes you pain. That pain is emotional turmoil. Such as, grief from the loss of a loved one. As Alfred Lord Tennyson quotes, it is better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes losing something to recognize the full power of love.
Love requires you to tap into emotions that you aren’t always comfortable feeling. Consider those moments when you tear up because you witness an act of love that moves you to feel something deep within you. It means showing your vulnerable side and some may think this is a sign of weakness. However, showing your emotions and your capacity to love is an incredible act of strength. It shows what a big heart you have even if you don’t always wear your heart on your sleeve. Showing love can be selfless because you want others to experience it and feel that emotion too.
Yet, there are times when love doesn’t always come easy. There are moments in life that are frustrating, trying, challenging, and you may even wonder why this is happening. In these moments, work to shift your perspective and see things differently through the lens of love. Look for the silver lining, the miracles, be grateful, and be the light of love. Your light radiates outward. You cannot control how others think or feel. But, you can control your own reaction. If someone is being rude or unkind, show them love that they must be going through a tough time. Be gracious with your love and shine light where there is darkness. You do not need to take on another person’s negativity or dark cloud of energy. Choose to stand in your power and see life through the lens of love.
There is a lot of power in a collective group of people who come together over love. This may be the love of a shared mission, value, purpose, or community of people who are all working together for the same desired outcome. Major progress can happen when people come together and support one another to achieve a goal. Think about how much more motivated and empowered you feel when you’re surrounded by people who are cheering you on. It makes you feel supported by love and shows you that you’re not alone in this. No matter how difficult it becomes working towards your goals, together, through love, you can move mountains and achieve greatness.
But, what happens if you don’t have that support group around you? Then, I would encourage you to find one. Maybe that’s following a mentor online who shares motivation, enrolling in a course to surround yourself with like minded individuals, or joining a group with a shared interest. Building relationships is something that will further enrich your life. However, you have to have the courage to put yourself out there and be brave enough to try. It’s finding that community where you feel safe, supported, and loved for who you are. This may be with just one close friend or family member. Start with one person you can trust who has shared their ability to love through deep conversations, common interests, and caring about your thoughts, feelings, emotions, etc. This trust is built over time just as love learns to evolve and grow.
Do not be afraid to shine your light and show love. Operating from this higher level of compassion will allow you to see this world differently. Shower your love and experience how it feels to see life through the lens of love. One perfect example is showing love for another human being and feeling your heart expand. Rather than contracting and hiding away in the darkness, recall that your light radiates outward. Feel the expansiveness of love. When you come together with people who are also vibrating at that high frequency of love, you’ll experience love beyond any measure. Love is incredibly powerful. Show others love, show yourself love, and show love for the little things in life by being grateful. Know that you can experience love on a whole other level if you simply choose to feel and see life through the lens of love.
For the next 5 days, consciously practice viewing your life through the lens of love.
Each day, complete these 3 steps:
Choose Love First (Morning Intention)
Start your day by repeating this mantra: “today, I choose to see myself, others, and my experiences through the lens of love.”
Set the intention to respond with love rather than negativity.
Find the Love Moment (During the Day)
Look for one moment where you can intentionally shift your perspective:
Respond to frustration with compassion
Offer yourself grace instead of criticism
Choose empathy instead of judgment
Express appreciation, kindness, or gratitude
This can be a simple, small shift in your thoughts.
Reflect + Anchor (Evening Check-In)
At the end of your day, journal:
Where did I choose love today?
How did that change how I felt?
What felt lighter, calmer, or more connected because I chose to see life through the lens of love?
After 5 days, notice:
How your energy shifted
How your reactions changed
How much more at peace you feel
Love isn’t passive — it’s a powerful, intentional way of living.
