How To Become Better Than You Were Yesterday

If you want to live life to your full potential one of the key things you can do is focus on getting better each day.  That simply means becoming better than you were yesterday in order to become the best version of yourself.  This daily continuous improvement will help you become your highest self and reach your full potential.  There are a few things you can do to help you become better than you were yesterday.

 

Go From Novice To Expert

One of the easiest things you can do to become better than you were yesterday is to learn new things.  Find something that you don’t know much about and go from being a novice to an expert.  It’s fun, exciting, and challenging to do things you haven’t yet mastered.  This is what keeps you moving forward in life.  You will have something to work towards that gives your life direction and purpose.  Discover things that you can go from novice to expert at.

 

Try A New Hobby

Learning new hobbies is a great way to go from being the novice to an expert.  Maybe that’s learning a different language, taking up an outdoor sport, picking up a musical instrument, or trying a creative craft.  Immerse yourself in this topic by reading books, watching videos, and listening to audios.  Most of all, take action and truly experience it!  Find something new that you can try.  Make it fun and give it your best attempt.

 

Expand Your Comfort Zone

It can be hard to try new things and know that the first time you try it, you won’t be very good at it.  That fear of looking like a silly newbie or fear of failing because you’re not doing it perfectly.  These fears are all completely normal.  Everyone has them.  You wouldn’t be human without them.  But, when you experience these fears, realize that you’re on the brink of something amazing.  You’re pushing the limits of your comfort zone and this is where the magic happens that allows you to learn, grow, and better than you were yesterday.  Push yourself to embrace the fear and expand your comfort zone every day.

 

Social Media Comparison

Being better than you were yesterday does not mean being better than other people.  A huge culprit of this is comparing yourself to others on social media.  When you see other people living their best life you may put yourself down because you’re not at their level or doing what they are doing.  However, remember that you are only seeing their perfect world curated on social media.  It’s just the tip of the iceberg that only shows the best parts.  It’s not a true representation of reality.  You cannot compare yourself to what you see on social media.  Instead, put blinders on and focus on running your own race to be better than you were yesterday.

 

Competition With Yourself

If you find yourself struggling to compare where you are and what you’re doing with that of other people, stop immediately!  Avoid seeing others as your competition.  Where they are in their lives and what they are doing has no bearing on you becoming the best version of yourself.  Work to improve your life day by day, not trying to compete with others.  You are only in competition with yourself.

 

 

 

In order to be better than you were yesterday, you must keep challenging yourself to learn and grow.  Go from being the novice to the expert at a new hobby.  Sure, it’s scary and uncomfortable to try new things, but that’s how you get better each day.  You will experience fear and that is a good sign that you’re on the right track to breaking through the barriers of your comfort zone.  Do not let yourself get swept in comparing yourself to others and seeing them as your competition.  Focus on where you are and what you’re working on.  Your goal is be better than you were yesterday.  That has nothing to do with where other people in their lives.  Put your attention on perpetually getting better each day.  When you do this, you’ll live a happier life, become your highest self, and reach your full potential.
