The first limiting belief is that you have to feel motivated in order to take action on your goals. That belief just isn’t realistic. It’s much easier to procrastinate and push challenging tasks off until later. But, that doesn’t get you any closer to your goals. There will be times when you don’t feel like taking action. However, it’s important you take daily action on your goals. Even when you don’t feel like it. Take your biggest, hardest task and get it out of the way first thing in the morning. Don’t procrastinate and put it off until later. You’ll feel much more accomplished when you get things done. Think about how you’ll feel when you’ve completed the task at hand. Use that feeling as motivation to get you up and moving.
Your next limiting belief that’s holding you back from achieving success, is that you have to feel certain about how you’re going to achieve your goals. It’s hard to take action on achieving your goals when you’re uncertain about what steps to take. However, action creates clarity. The path will reveal itself when you take action. Do not let being uncertain about things hold you back and prevent you from taking action. You’ll never make progress if you remain stuck just because you feel uncertain of what to do next. The best you can do is make an informed decision with the details you have an continue moving forward. Take action anyway and make adjustments as you go. Then there is the limiting belief that everything has to be perfect. If you’re waiting for everything to be perfect before you start, then you’ll be waiting a very long time. There will never be a perfect time. Something will always come up as an excuse to why it is not the perfect time. That’s why the best time to start is right now. Stop waiting for perfection because that time will never come. Start taking action on your goals now. Otherwise, you’ll never achieve them.
Lastly, the limiting belief that you have to please everyone will always stop you from going after your goals. Realize that you can’t please everyone. That’s just the honest truth. Instead of trying to please everyone, think about the people whose opinions matter to you the most. This could be your family or best friend. Everyone else, their opinion doesn’t matter. A troll on social media hiding behind their computer; their opinion doesn’t matter. This is your life and you have only one to live. Do not live it trying to please everyone else. Go after your goals without worrying about pleasing everyone else in the process.
These four limiting beliefs can hold you back from successfully achieving your goals. First, it can be easier to do nothing than to risk taking action on achieving your goals. But, procrastinating and feeling unmotivated will not get you any closer to reaching your goals. Second, you may be feeling the path to achieving yours goals is uncertain. You are right. It is very uncertain. Do not let that fear hold you back. You must explore uncharted territory and step outside your comfort zone if you want to achieve something you’ve never done before. Third, there will never be a perfect time to get started. If you keep waiting for everything to be perfect, you will never make any progress on achieving your goals. Lastly, you can’t please everyone. These are your goals and dreams. Go after them and don’t let anyone hold you back. That includes you and your own limiting beliefs!
