Five Tips To Help You Start Taking Action On Your Goals

What holds you back from going after your goals?

 

The most common answer is fear.  The fear of judgement of what other people will think of you if you fail.  Often times you decide it’s easier to be in inaction waiting for everything to be perfectly aligned before you start.  That way you’ll be less likely to make a mistake and fail.  Or perhaps you let self doubt keep you from going after your dreams. 

 

The question becomes how to get over your fear.  Here are five tips to help you get over your fears and confidently start taking action on achieving your goals.

 

1. Failure Happens

The truth is, failure is inevitable.  You didn’t learn to walk on your first try.  Yet, you think achieving your goal should be so simple.  Through failure comes success.  The more times you fail the closer you are to getting it right.  Failures are lessons learned.  It’s going to happen so just accept it.

 

2. Stop Waiting For Perfect

A lot of times you’re waiting for all the answers before you get started.  You think that if you knew all the details and had the perfect path planned out that achieving your goal would be much easier.  Plus, you’ll be less likely to “fail”.  But in reality, nothing ever goes exactly as planned.  Stop waiting for the perfect time.  The path to success is not a perfectly straight line.  Rather, it’s a winding road that will eventually lead you to successfully achieving your goal.

 

3. Quiet Self Doubt

Many times you are just caught up in your own head.  Stressed with self doubt of who are you to be doing this or are you even capable of achieving such success.  You can’t let self doubt win and keep you stuck inside your comfort zone.  You will never fully live life if you remain exactly where you are.  Quiet the voice of self doubt and believe that you meant for greatness.

 

4. Believe In Yourself

If you’re lucky to have some friends and family as cheerleaders along the way then draw on them for support. But, if you’re alone on this journey your belief in yourself must be unwavering.  If you don’t believe in yourself and your reason behind achieving your goal then it will be much harder to stay committed and see it through to completion.  Remember, you are capable of doing anything you set your mind to.  Believe in yourself and that it is possible.

 

5. Be Confident

Channel your inner strength and do hard things.  Confidently put yourself out there and take action.  Be the confident person who is unafraid to fail, who doesn’t wait for perfect, quiets the self doubt, and believes in themselves.  Boldly go after your goals with powerful confidence.

 

 

Success is yours but only if you want it.  If you let fear, failure, waiting for the perfect time, and self doubt hold you back then you will never be able to achieve your goals in life.  It’s time to put those behind you and focus on what you want in life.  Believe in your ability to make your dreams a reality.  You can do this.  The hardest part is taking the first step.  Challenge yourself to be the confident person who takes action on your goals.
