8 Tips To Achieve Your Goal Faster

Feb 13, 2020

Use these eight tips to help you achieve your goal faster.

1. Get Clear

The first step to achieve your goal faster is to get absolutely clear on what your goal is.  If you have no idea what you’re trying to achieve then it will be hard to know what direction you should be moving toward.  An unclear goal is impossible to obtain.  Worse, an unclear goal will leave you stuck where you currently are.  Write your goal down on paper.  Be specific and clear on what you want to achieve.

2. Be Consistent

Create a game plan that will help you achieve your goal and be consistent with it.  If you’re working toward your goal every other week you’ll see limited progress.  However, if you’re consistently working on your goal every day you’ll achieve it much faster.  Do at least one thing every day that will help you achieve your goal.  Schedule time first thing in the morning to ensure that it gets done.  Consistently take action on your goal.

3. Be Courageous

Fear often holds you back from going after your goals.  Don’t let fear keep you stuck.  Embrace the fear and be courageous.  Take a few small risks and evaluate the outcome.  Everything is an experiment and a lesson to learn.  Do the hard things that will move you closer to achieve your goal.  Take a few risks and be courageous!

4. Stop Comparing

Comparing yourself to someone else will only make you feel less than.  Instead, put blinders on and stay in your own lane.  Focus on what you need to do and that alone.  One way to do this is to reduce time on social media where the comparison game is all too common.  Unfollow or mute accounts that don’t lift you up.  Rather, choose accounts that inspire you to take action on your goal and make you feel good about yourself.  Concentrate on you and your goal only.  Don’t worry about what other people are doing or what they think.  You do you and stop comparing yourself.

5. Ask For Help

You can’t be an expert at everything.  If you’re struggling to achieve your goal, don’t be afraid to ask for help.  Stop spinning your wheels and wasting time on an area that’s not your expertise.  Get some help and continue move forward.

6. Celebrate

Most of the time you’re working so hard on your goal that you rarely stop to realize how much you’ve already accomplished.  Be present and appreciate each little achievement.  Every step you take toward reaching your goal is something to celebrate.  Tell yourself that you did a good job and give yourself a pat on the back.  Don’t forget to stop and celebrate your wins along the way.

7. Have Fun

Working on achieving your goal can be really stressful.  Remember to make it fun!  When you’re having fun you’ll be more likely to work towards your goal.  You’ll be excited to consistently take action and make progress.  Versus, when you’re not having fun, you’ll procrastinate and put off doing the things you know you need to get done.  Life is an adventure and the more you enjoy it, the more fun you will have.

8. Recharge

Lastly, take time to switch off and recharge.  If you’re feeling burnt out or stressed it’s necessary to take a step back and pause.  Allow your brain the space it needs to rest, wander, and dream.  This will give you incredible mental clarity.  Recharging will let you hit the ground running and start tackling the necessary tasks you need to complete in order to achieve your goal faster.
